Statement from Assembly Candidate Jeff Madden on the Closing of the 2024 Legislative Session

Colonie, NY - The following is a statement from Colonie Town Councilman Jeff Madden, candidate for New York State Assembly in District 110 (Colonie, Niskayuna, Guilderland, and Schenectady).

As the 2024 legislative session comes to a close, I want to share my thoughts and concerns with you. I’ve lived in this district for years, and I am deeply committed to our community's well-being. It's clear that the priorities in Albany do not reflect our local values.

Our current Assemblyman, Phil Steck, and his extreme-left allies have consistently failed to address the real issues we face. Instead of tackling our most pressing concerns, he proposed a reverse 'Robin Hood' scheme that would unfairly tax personal trading accounts while protecting Wall Street elites. This plan was so out of touch that even his own party couldn't support it.

Additionally, Steck has supported measures that invade our everyday lives and livelihoods, such as banning gas stoves and allocating over 2 billion of our taxpayer dollars to fund the cost of illegal immigrants forced into our communities, all while our local governments struggle to manage the influx of these migrants from NYC.

While making New York less affordable, Steck found time to tweet and rant awkwardly about national politics, often veering away from our district's needs. Alarmingly, he has placed blame on Israel’s government for the October 7th Hamas terrorist attacks, showing a total disconnect from the values of our community.

It's clear that Phil Steck is not focused on serving the people of the 110th district. His frequent bids for other offices suggest he’s more interested in advancing his career than addressing our needs. On Election Day, I am confident the voters will give him his wish and send him packing.
