MADDEN ANNOUNCES CAMPAIGN FOR STATE ASSEMBLY

Colonie Town Councilman Jeff Madden today announced he is running for the New York state Assembly’s 110th District, covering the Town of Colonie, Niskayuna and parts of Guilderland and Schenectady.

“I ran for town board because I thought I could have a positive impact on the residents of Colonie, but I have come to find out much of what affects our daily lives is controlled at the state level and that is where I need to take the fight,” Madden said. “Watching the direction of our state over the last several years, I felt inspired to run and be part of the solution, advocating for common-sense policies in our state government.

“As a current town councilman in Colonie, I have a track record of helping deliver real results to improve infrastructure, affordability and public safety in our communities. I want to continue to be a part of the solution by fighting for lower taxes, support for law enforcement and first responders and a better quality of life for all the hardworking men and women in the 110th District,” said Madden.

Madden grew up in the Town of Colonie and has contributed to the region’s growth in his public and private life. Jeff attended Colonie Central High School and SUNY Brockport before starting his business career, a career which began when he was only 23 years old. Throughout his professional life, Jeff has managed and operated numerous small businesses in the Town of Colonie, including All Sports Café and Madden’s. He’s also spent 20 years in upper management in the automotive business.

Jeff also has a track record of deep community involvement, having served as coach and mentor to hundreds of Colonie youth, including Colonie High School football and lacrosse, Colonie Little League and Colonie Pop Warner. He was elected as a Colonie town councilman in 2021, receiving the most votes on Election Day of any town board candidate.

“The people of the 110th Assembly District deserve common-sense representation, which we have been denied over the last decade. This campaign is not about partisan politics, it’s about the need to change the status quo in New York, which has resulted in higher crime rates, taxes and a migrant crisis that is continually unaddressed, with no meaningful solutions on the way. It’s time we elect leaders who will put people over politics, and work toward delivering real solutions for the Capital Region,” Madden concluded.
